Principles of diversity and inclusion
In order to live Sonova’s principles of diversity and inclusion not only internally but also in our visual communication, it is important to consider the following points when selecting images and talent.
A broad depiction of ages and demographics of people is important in ensuring a representative, inclusive experience that speaks to a wide variety of audiences:
- Does the page depict a diverse age range when appropriate?
- Is the emphasis on pediatrics appropriate for the intent of the page?
- Does the page depict images of people that are representative of a diverse audience (race or background)?
- Who is missing or excluded?
- Can any photos be swapped out for a different type of person?
- Are any stereotypes being perpetuated in the photo I am using?
- Can everyone who might view the photo see someone like themselves represented in it
We do not make visual statements on political situations, global conflicts, religious denominations or culturally very specific occasions.
Accordingly, the following images/situations shall be avoided when selecting images or when creating film sets:
Social events
We do not show alcoholic beverages. Also not those that look similar to their alcoholic counterparts.
Select images in a bar setting wisely, but always avoid pictures in an excessive context of loud and wild parties.

- Water yes (but not in wine glasses)

- Soft drinks such as Mountain Dew, raspberry, Sprite, Chinotto
- Orange juice
- Coffee or tea (in a glass, cup or mug)
No
Grape juice (= red wine)
Apple juice (= champagne or white wine).
San Bitter (= Campari)
Look-alikes
We do not promote our services and product by using models who visually mimic a celebrity, e.g. presidents, actors and other celebrities.
Political events / statements
We do not make political statements, support or reject politically oriented campaigns or parties. Nor do we make any allusions to laws or global crises. Any kind of racist visualization or depiction of oppression is not permitted.
Religious events / symbols
Do not use religious events such as Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, Ramadan, temple ceremonies, etc. Especially not if it is a global campaign and/or global target group. We do not show prayer situations or places of worship – regardless of religion.
